Your Night Rating, Step by Step

The Night Rating is for pilots who intend to fly unshielded at night, whether under Part 101 or Part 102.

Practical Assessment

Complete your practical flight assessment with one of our instructors.

Both the theory and practical requirements must be passed to obtain the Night Rating.

An approved pilot qualification, such as the Advanced UAS Remote Pilot Certificate.

Read and understand the Night Rating Guide before your assessment. The examiner will ask questions about its content and how it relates to your operations. The guide also describes the flight test.
